Terrell Owens: Worth The Risk?

The Buffalo Bills shocked the football world when the decided to offer Terrell Owens a contract to join them for the 2009-10 NFL season just days after the Dallas Cowboys gave Owens his walking papers. Can Owens make a difference for the Bills? Or will it all just backfires as he blows up and causes a divide within the locker room of the Bills? One thing is for certain though, when Owens is on the field, he is a dynamic receiver and the Bills offense could be lethal with his explosiveness on one side and Lee Evans on the other. That said, the presence of Evans is more than enough to cause Owens to become upset with his touches and we all know how that usually ends when Owens is riding the quarterback and blaming the coaches when he is not happy.

Make no mistake about it, Evans will be the #1 receiver and Owens has got to live with it and from what’s happened in the past, there is nothing that has indicated he’s willing to put his ego aside for the greater good of the team and their success. This is a young Bills team and the envious, shady, My Myself, and I persona of Owens is something that could easily damage the relationship between the players if they were to end up on opposite sides when it comes to defending or not defending Terrell Owens. I’m sure the media will have their eyes on what’s happening with the Bills this season.
